Continuing Education for Esthetician License Renewal

As an esthetician professional, extensive education will not only make you stand out — it will make you more money

The field of aesthetics is constantly evolving with the popularity of trends and social media appeal. New advancements and techniques in the field of aesthetics give estheticians more to explore, learn, and earn.

Renewing your esthetician license is a good excuse to further your education.

You’re showing a commitment to the field by renewing your license and continuing your career, why not throw a little extra education on top? There are so many classes, webinars, and certifications that you can obtain to advance your professional clout.

Some states may require you to continue your education to maintain your esthetician license.

Most states do not require more than 6 hours of continued education units (CEUs) a year. You may also be required to complete unit hours dedicated to safety and sanitation in the field as well as infection prevention. These hours do not need to be completed all at once and can be tasked throughout the year.

Spectrum Advanced Aesthetics is a beauty institute that prioritizes the career advancement of our estheticians even after graduation. We provide continued education for as low as $100 a year.

Webinars

You can satisfy CEU hours from the comfort of your own home through webinars and short online classes. Beauty institutes are known for offering webinars to help estheticians expand their knowledge and complete CEU hours.

Types of webinars you can participate in to satisfy CEU hours may be:

  • Skincare webinars
  • Marketing webinars
  • Safety webinars
  • Cosmeceutical webinars
  • And more

Be sure to confirm that these webinars are approved by your state board to receive credit as a CEU. Some webinars are free, while some may cost a small fee.

Skin Care Classes

In recent years, the ‘natural’ look has emerged as a leading beauty trend. Internet beauty gurus are no longer vlogging about the best foundations or concealers, but instead the best skin care products, routines, and treatments.

As an esthetician, you can satisfy your CEUs and take advantage of this lucrative trend with skin care classes and certifications like:

  • Vampire facials
  • Dermaplaning
  • Microneedling
  • Hydrafacials
  • Diamond facials

Spectrum Advanced Aesthetics offers all of these continued education courses and more. Check out how Advanced Spectrum Aesthetics can help you satisfy your CEU requirements and stay on top of the industry.

Tips for Successful Esthetician License Renewal

Use these tips to ensure an easy esthetician license renewal process.

Be organized: Keep all documentation in an organized and easily accessible place. It is recommended that you keep track of your renewal paperwork in case it is needed for future renewals.

Stay informed: Laws involving health and beauty can change. Keep up to date on your state’s licensing and renewal requirements so that you can plan in case there are any changes in fees or CEU requirements. Keep up to date on board-approved resources and classes that are available when meeting continued education requirements.

Be on time: There are penalties associated with late renewal in the form of fees or license suspension.
