I’m a recent graduate of Spectrum’s Advanced Hybrid Program! The hybrid program is really great for folks who are still working or have kiddos at home. Much of the theory is done at home, with hands on being done on campus.I highly recommend staying on top of your theory!! Though the program is part-time, it is still very involved! Unlike other schools, which kind of throw the info at you and never check in, instructors at Spectrum take a lot of concern making sure you study and understand the technology well!Alyna, my instructor, was so knowledgeable, compassionate and involved! I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher! That girl knows her sh*t! If you plan on continuing your career in esthetics, I highly recommend going to Spectrum.

If I could give this school 1000 stars, I would! As a student from the basic and advanced program I can definitely say my experience here is amazing. I felt so cared for from all of the instructors and staff. I had originally transferred from another school that had horrible education and happened to find Spectrum. I took a tour of the school and knew this was the school for me. I attended half way through the basic esthetics program and was immediately welcomed by Mary (the owner) and my instructor Kathleen. I could probably write a whole essay on how much I love Kathleen, she is a complete sweetheart and was very patient with me throughout my whole program. I decided to sign up for the advanced program right away. I quickly grew an amazing connection with all of my classmates which then grew into a sister like bond. The education and knowledge from all the educators is phenomenal and you truly get every thing you need to succeed. You get beautiful head shots and even a nice little video of yourself to show off a couple treatments you love. You get to have a one on one mock interview which truly set you up for success with none other than the amazing Taylor Ford. I cannot thank this school enough for everything it’s given me. Special shout-out to Selisha, Alyna and Rachel for always being so informative, patient, motivating and honestly being like second moms to all of us. FAQs About our Portland Beauty School Services
The in-house on-campus program operates Monday through Thursday between 9 am and 4 pm. Classes start at regular intervals and take approximately 4.5 months to complete. Small classes of six to eight students guarantee personalized training with plenty of hands-on supervision from our qualified instructors. The program length is 500 hours plus completion of required hands-on treatments to demonstrate growing proficiencies.
The online hybrid program is a part-time option that allows you to complete the theory portion online through our secure portal. You will receive individualized mentoring with our specially trained staff. Hands-on training will be provided at our location in Tigard – coordinating your schedule with your instructor to be onsite two days a week. Once you reach your senior level, you will work your way into providing treatments to real clients in our med spa setting. The online hybrid program takes approximately ten months to complete.
Both program options include courses in advanced laser and light based device theory, ANSI and OSHA standards, standard operating procedures for lasers and light based devices, potential hazards, complications, common indications, and post procedure education as well as units on exfoliation treatments with both mechanical and chemical modalities, medical skincare, and CPR and First Aid certification.
You will learn laser hair removal, tattoo removal, body contouring with laser lipolysis, cryolipolysis, and radio frequency. You will learn cellulite reduction, skin rejuvenation with IPL Photofacial, RF microneedling, microneedling, laser skin resurfacing, chemical peels and more.
Program costs include all fees and tuition, training materials, books, customized skincare and an impressive student kit. The full-time program will include a Career Success Package with Electric Beauty. You will receive professional headshots, a custom marketing video and a social media consultation to jumpstart your career upon graduation.

Each educator holds both tiers of licensure and have performed thousands of the treatments they are teaching. They also hold the esteemed Milady or Pivot Point Master Educator certification.
Educators have multiple certifications in all treatments, devices and skincare brands. Spectrum is recognized by ASCP and Dermascope as an Industry Influencer.
We have negotiated a student discount at nearby Marriotts.
We receive inquiries weekly from physicians’ offices, dermatologists, plastic surgeons, medi-spas, aesthetic sales and more. We pass all of these inquiries onto our students.
Many of them have secured jobs prior to or shortly after completing the program. We also offer business development support for students desiring to open their own medispas. Our students are sought out but we do not guarantee placement.
Students should wear solid colored scrubs and tennis shoes or professional closed toed shoes.
