Nutrition Certified Esthetician Program

Healthy skin and nutrition and diet are more deeply connected than previously thought. Research is revealing the need for an understanding of the most common nutrients that affect the skin as well as how the role of diet affects the skin. You need this info to create a successful treatment plan for your clients’ skin health.

The program is taught by Rachel Miller, our on-staff LPN, a graduate of Cornell University certified nutrition program, nationally certified phlebotomist. She is also a certified advanced esthetician and licensed instructor.

Here's What You Will Learn

  • To provide information to the licensed esthetician on the role of nutrition in skin health.
  • To understand the role of diet in maintaining normal skin anatomy and physiology.
  • To appreciate how genes and epigenetics can inform personalized nutrition strategies.
  • To compare the roles of macro and micronutrients, their functions, and common food sources.
  • To describe the role of phytonutrients and bioactives in the diet and common sources.
  • To demonstrate the role of key biological systems that connect diet and skin health, including the microbiome.
  • To differentiate between RDA/RDI and functional needs for
  • To analyze benefits, challenges between common diets, including vegetarian, vegan, Paleo, Mediterranean, Keto, FODMAP, Blood Type, Intermittent Fasting
  • To identify common skin conditions that are impacted by diet including acne, rosacea, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, hirsutism, vitiligo, alopecia and other hair loss, hidradenitis suppuritiva, hormonal imbalances including PCOS, Thyroid, and
  • To formulate basic diet, topical and lifestyle strategies for each condition and communicate to clients.
  • To evaluate claims regarding nutrition and skin health utilizing scientific studies
  • To recognize when referral to a qualified nutrition expert is necessary

Nutrition Certified Esthetician Program

Enrollment at Spectrum

Program costs include all fees and tuition, training materials, books, customized skincare and an impressive student kit.  The full-time program will include a Career Success Package with Electric Beauty. You will receive professional headshots, a custom marketing video and a social media consultation to jumpstart your career upon graduation.

Payment options and rebates are available and will be discussed during your student tour. Ascent Funding and  Meritize  are 2 private financial aid options but students may find additional tuition funding through other sources.

Information about in-house financing will be discussed during your tour.

We are an approved vendor through Oregon’s Work-Innovation-Opportunity-Act. Meet with a counselor at WIOA and get tuition financed through the state of Oregon.

We are an approved school for MyCAA, a benefit for the spouses of those in the military.

We’ve partnered with Ascent FundingStudent Loan Through CoachingLoanUpstart and with Meritize for student financial aid.

Our Oregon licensed instructors are all Certified Advanced Estheticians and Certified Master Educators. They have had real-life experience working in the field as skincare professionals.

They have performed thousands of the same treatments that they are teaching, and they have the depth of knowledge to give students a comprehensive educational experience.

Many of our students travel from locations across the Pacific Northwest. There are numerous hotels within a three-mile radius of the school.

Students have also found housing through Airbnb, and other online short-term residency options.

We receive inquiries weekly from physicians’ offices, dermatologists, plastic surgeons, medi-spas, aesthetic sales and more. We pass all of these inquiries onto our students.

Many of them have secured jobs prior to or shortly after completing the program. We also offer business development support for students desiring to open their own medispas. Our students are sought out but we do not guarantee placement.

Students should wear solid colored scrubs and tennis shoes or professional closed toed shoes.
